My spouse is currently a singing member of HGMC; so in my desire to support his efforts and give back to the community, I accepted an invitation for consideration to serve on the Board of Directors.
What do you enjoy the most about being involved with this chorus?
The level of cooperation, volunteerism, and the family environment exhibited among the chorus members, staff, and Board make it a pleasure to serve.
What value does being in the chorus bring to your life?
Serving on the Board allows me to make meaning by using the non-profit skills I acquired over the years to the benefit of my gay brothers.
Why is music and/or the arts important to you?
As a professional musician who has been involved with arts non-profits for years, I see firsthand how the power of music can inspire and transform people’s lives.
What is an interesting fact you would like our audience/patrons to know about you?
I have been a performing member of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra and other local musical groups for 40 years, and I have served on the Board of Directors of Connecticut Choral Artists (CONCORA), a local professional chorus, as a member, Treasurer, and its President.
